Welcome to Veterans for Peace Berkshire County #186
Daniel Shays Chapter

We, as military veterans, do hereby affirm our greater responsibility to serve the cause of world peace. To this end we will work, with others both nationally and internationally:

  • To increase public awareness of the causes and costs of war

  • To restrain our governments from intervening, overtly and covertly, in the internal affairs of other nations.

  • To resist racism and repression in our home communities

  • To oppose the militarization of law enforcement

  • To end the arms race and to reduce and eventually eliminate nuclear weapons

  • To seek justice for veterans and victims of war

  • To abolish war as an instrument of national policy

  • To promote a sustainable and peaceful world

To achieve these goals, members of Veterans For Peace pledge to use non-violent means and to maintain an organization that is both democratic and open with the understanding that all members are trusted to act in the best interests of the group for the larger purpose of world peace.

Veterans For Peace is a 40-year-old organization of veterans and allies working for peace at home and peace abroad. There are VFP chapters in over 100 U.S. cities and in several other countries. We welcome new veteran members as well as non-veterans who want to help lift up our. unique veteran's voice.

At present our meetings are held on the 3rd Saturday of the month from 10:00 am - 11:00 am, at the Berkshire Atheneum, 1 Wendell Ave. Pittsfield Mass 01201
